Installing DotNetNuke
This page covers the installation and configuration of DotNetNuke on our servers. DotNetNuke may be installed in the root www directory, or to any sub directory of your web site. When installing to a subdirectory of your site, you should use the control panel to set the directory as an application.


How it's done
Example DotNetNuke installation.
  • Register on the DotNetNuke web site. This low volume mailing list will alert you to DotNetNuke upgrades and security enhancements.

  • Download the latest install package of DotNetNuke from the DotNetNuke.org web site.
     

  • Unzip the DotNetNuke files and upload them to your web space, via FTP.
    If there is already a web.config on your site, rename it and upload the DotNetNuke version of web.config


  • Use the control panel to create a MS SQL Server database, to hold the DotNetNuke data.


  • Begin configuring DotNetNuke, by visiting your web site or temporary URL.
    It may take sever minutes for the initial page load.
       

  • Enter the MS SQL Server database details into the DotNetNuke configuration and setup the database.
     

  • Enter a user name and password for the super administrator.
    Enter another user name and password for the site administrator, then complete the install.
         

  • The DotNetNuke install should now be complete. Visit your web site or temp URL to view the site.
