Installing Joomla on IIS
This page covers the installation and configuration of Joomla. Joomla may be installed in the root www directory, or to any sub directory of your web site. When installing to a subdirectory of your site, you should use the control panel to set the directory as an application.

Those pages will contain notices regarding new releases and security enhancements.
Download the latest version of Joomla from the
Joomla.org
web site.
Unzip the Joomla files and upload them to your web space, via FTP.
Use the control panel to create a MySql database, to hold the Joomla data.
Begin configuring Joomla, by visiting your web site or temporary URL
Enter the MySql database details into the Joomla configuration.
Skip the FTP step in the web based installer.
If you are not a Joomla expert, install the sample data.
Enter a user name and password for the site administrator.
Complete the install, by using a FTP client to delete the Joomla installation directory.
The Joomla install should now be complete. Visit your web site or temp URL to view the site.
